Transportation Plans
In order to provide a viable transportation network, a city may create a transportation plan. Some cities include their transportation plan in their comprehensive plan. Others choose to create a separate transportation plan. Transportation plans are designed to meet the transportation needs of the community and they include various modes of transportation. These modes may include: freight, rail, walking, biking, and cars. Additionally, the transportation plan should focus on infrastructure for each mode. Cities may choose to prepare their own transporation plan while others may contract a firm to create a transportation plan. The only report that is required by the state for transportation is the annual road conditions report.
