Police
Police provide important services to the community and they are an invaluable resource in times of crisis. However, due to the nature of their work, liability issues may arise. If this happens, consult with CIS as they will be able to best help in this situation. Smaller cities may choose to enter into an integovernmental agreement with the county for them to provide police services. Additionally, some cities choose to develop mutual aid agreements with neighboring jurisdictions in the event that a cities' police department needs assistance in managing a situation. All law enforcement officers in the state must be certified by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
