Required Public Meetings Trainings Begin this Fall
The Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC) has announced that registration is now open for training on public meetings law which is now mandatory for elected city officials.
A 2023 state law requires all members of a governing body within a public body that has $1 million in total expenditures for a fiscal year to either attend or view an OGEC training on the state’s public meetings law. Virtual training will occur in October, and the OGEC will offer in-person training beginning in November.
