Get Ready - It's Almost Time to Report Infrastructure Conditions and Mileage to ODOT
All cities and counties in Oregon must submit road and bridge condition information and public road inventory mileage to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) by February 1, 2025, as required by House Bill 2017 (2017). Visit the ODOT website for information about these required reports.
Pavement and Bridge Condition Reporting
HB 2017, the transportation funding package passed by the Oregon Legislature in 2017, requires all Oregon cities and counties to report the condition of their roads and bridges every two years. City reports are due to ODOT by February 1, 2025, or ODOT is statutorily required to withhold State Highway Fund payments. The form to submit city data to ODOT is available now. If your city has not received login information, please contact ODOT to request an account.
Public Road Inventory Reporting
ODOT is federally mandated to report the certified public road miles for Oregon’s entire road network each year. This report includes mileage by surface type and jurisdiction rather than pavement conditions. The public road inventory report requires counties and cities to submit changes in mileage, surface type, and jurisdiction for all roads they own. This data is used to determine federal funding allocations. Instructions are available on ODOT’s Certified Public Road Mileage website.
