Census 2020 - Is Your City Hard to Count?
As Oregon and the nation prepare for Census 2020, city leaders are encouraged to look at their community’s undercount rates from the previous census. Each undercounted individual reduces funds from more than 55 federal programs that are distributed on a per capita basis. View a map of the undercounted areas of Oregon
In addition to federal funding, Congressional and legislative districts will be re-aligned to reflect population shifts, and Oregon could expect an additional seat in the U.S. House of Representatives due to the state’s population growth. Please watch the Friday LOC Bulletin for more information about how city leaders can improve the population counts in their communities.
