When your city has a project or program that needs funding, the Legislature or Congress will be an important avenue to find additional funding. Navigating the process to make a request can be daunting and seem impossible, but it doesn’t have to be. The videos on this page focus on identifying champions, advocating for your ask, and testifying for your project or funding ask. In addition, we have asked some lawmakers and legislative staff to join us and provide their expert advice on how, when and what to ask for when making a request.
Resources to Support a Project Request
The Capital Project Request Form is an important step towards building a request for legislative funding. It identifies the main contact for the project, key project details, the timeline or schedule for the project, and important information about funding that has already gone into the project.
